Which crane mounting is suitable for my application?

We'll show you the various options for wall mounting here:

What should it be mounted on? What crane types are possible? Which load capacities and jib lengths are possible? Which requirements does the customer have to meet? Mounting
Steel support All All load capacities and jib lengths Check the suitability of the building support With screw connector
Steel support / reinforced concrete support All Up to 500 kg for all jib lengths;
from 500 to 3200 kg depending on the jib length
Check the suitability of the building support With embracing bracket

Steel plates
on a steel support, concrete support or concrete wall
All All load capacities and jib lengths Check the suitability of the substructure With weld-on plates
Reinforced concrete wall All All load capacities and jib lengths Check the suitability of the substructure With threaded rods and counter plates

Mounting on steel supports using screws

Do you have a sufficiently dimensioned steel support that a wall jib crane is to be attached to?

Then directly mount all ABUS wall jib cranes using screws, if the connecting surface is at least 300 mm wide. For types LW and LWX, this is done using the wall bracket, for type VW by directly screwing into both wall mounts.

The wall bracket or wall mounts are included in the standard scope of delivery - when ABUS performs the assembly, we additionally provide the required screw connection.

Mounting on steel support or reinforced concrete supports using embracing brackets

Does your building have reinforced concrete supports statically suitable for crane operation?

Square and rectangular reinforced concrete supports can be used for mounting using embracing brackets. It must be possible to embrace them from all sides and they need to have a minimum width of 300 mm. To maintain secure attachment on to the supports at the desired height, the required clamping force is applied via the threaded rods.

The appropriate embracing brackets for your support dimensions and the required mounting material are included in the scope of delivery.

Mounting on reinforced concrete walls using weld-on plates

Do you have a reinforced concrete wall or reinforced concrete supports which have steel plates for bracing cast into them?

By using ABUS weld-on plates, you have the option of installing wall jib cranes on your prepared mounting plates. The prerequisite for this is that the plates are placed exactly at the same level and have a plumb-vertical connection surface. The weld-on plates are welded to the substructure and the wall bracket or wall mounts are screwed onto these.

ABUS delivers the weld-on plates with the required mounting screws.

Mounting on steel supports using weld-on plates

Another option is welding the weld-on plates directly onto the steel supports or weight-bearing steel constructions, if these are not to be drilled through or there are no clamping possibilities.

Mounting to reinforced concrete walls using wall brackets and anchor bolts

Does your building have sufficiently robust reinforced concrete walls?

The wall bracket is part of the standard scope of delivery for wall jib crane types LW and LWX. Wall jib cranes of type VW additionally require wall brackets in addition to the wall mounts. The concrete wall is drilled through and the wall bracket is mounted directly to the concrete wall using tension anchors and counter plates.

We can also supply you with the appropriate threaded rods for the required wall thickness, including the counter plates and the mounting material on request. If we perform the assembly work, this is included in the delivery.
